Biology Lab Technician - Full-time
The Department of Physical and Biological Sciences at Western New England University seeks a full-time Biology Laboratory Technician to support its teaching mission.
Primary job responsibilities include: Preparation of materials for multiple biology laboratory sections (e.g. preparation of solutions, reagents, buffers, and microbiology media for nucleic acid and protein manipulations; maintaining of microorganisms, mammalian and other cell cultures).
Setup, breakdown, and cleanup of laboratory experiments, related equipment, and supplies for these labs. Ordering of lab supplies, maintaining lab equipment, and managing lab safety.
A Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or closely related field is required with at least one year of experience and/or training involving laboratory operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A candidate must have excellent time-management and organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
